Our philosophy is that children with additional support needs have the right to be educated and to develop to their full potential alongside other children. Everyone stands to gain if all children are allowed to share the same opportunities and helped to overcome any disadvantages they have to face. Education Authorities have a responsibility to make adequate and efficient provision for each child that has additional support needs. In assessing additional support needs it is important to recognize that there are a wide range of factors which may lead to some children and young people having a need for additional support.
